Experience volunteering service provides free training for all local residents wanting to become involved in volunteering.
All of the training we provide is geared around confidence building. We are aware that starting a volunteering placement can be a big step and that by attending a group training session can help new volunteers settle in.
We provide non-accredited training, which means you can get a certificate but not a qualification and accredited training which means when you have finished training you can get a qualification.
Our 1 day Training courses…
All local residents of East Manchester can access training, If you aren’t sure about what volunteering is all about then you can come along to a free ‘Introduction to volunteering session’ so you can find out about what volunteering involves.
Local residents can also access courses to help develop skills that will come in handy before starting volunteering placements and so that you can feel confident and ready for when you start your placement. These courses include ‘Communication Skills’ and ‘Customer Services’.
Local residents can also access ‘First Aid’ and 'Health and Safety’ training which are again really useful preparation for going on volunteering placements, qualifications can be gained for local residents successfully completing these courses.
More than 1 day Training …
As well as our 1 day courses, local residents can access courses that run for up to 3 sessions and involve coursework, these include a ‘Work Experience Unit’ which is useful for any local residents who are on volunteer placements and are actively looking for paid work and ‘Teamwork Unit’ which is useful for exploring the skills required to be involved in a team environment.
